Why I Can Water
Reuse water is recycled water … water that we have used and treated and is good enough to use again. By making use of water, then using it again, we’re being very smart with a limited resource.
Some of the benefits of using reuse water for irrigation include:
- No upfront cost to connect to the reuse system
- Reuse water costs less than drinking water
- No sewer costs for reuse water
- Decreases the need for fertilizers
- Conserves drinking water
- You can water any day of the week (except between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm)
- Prevents/reduces saltwater intrusion into our drinking water wells
- Reduces the amount of treated wastewater discharged into the ocean from the Broward County North Regional Wastewater Facility
- Delays additional drinking water facility upgrades
- Helps meet future drinking water demands
